There are millions of voices available to you right now, so let me start by thanking you for taking a bit of your time to listen to mine. My name is Sam, I grew up and live in New England on a small farm. I’ve had many different careers in my life, but for as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for learning new things. There’s nothing I love more than going for a hike in the woods or staying up until the wee hours of the morning while having a tasty intellectual discussion.
The goal of this publication will be to cover new, important, or just plain interesting topics from a unique perspective. My interests are pretty diverse, but I expect us to mostly cover topics related to the environment, the natural world, science and technology, with a smattering of culture and politics. I know those sound like generic subjects, but I’m not usually interested in well covered ground. I like to dive deep and find the hidden or counter-intuitive ideas that most people might be missing. I’ll also be sharing the occasional practical, or “how to” article that will teach you a few of the skills I’ve picked up in my wanderings.
The Format
We will publish 1-3 articles a month, with at least 1 article always being free. I prefer to dive deeper on a given subject, so you can take some time to sit and ponder. I won’t be clogging up your inbox with breathless opinions about current events.
I hope that we can build a community where we can have interesting discussions with each other. You can be sure that I’ll be responding to every comment, so please share any and all of your thoughts with me.
